Cure for Cancer Gala 2024
Many thanks to everyone who contributed!
Thanks to the generosity of our guests, sponsors and the fantastic team behind the scenes, we raised €959,000 at the gala evening. More than €970,000 has now been received; that means almost 1 million euros for our researchers!
Many thanks to everyone who made this evening so special.
The guests were welcomed with Philipponnat champagne, accompanied by the musical Ascot trio and the Flamingos. Doortje van Herwaarde made a frame, with a painting by her father George van Herwaarde in the background, in which our guests could be photographed. The photos were taken by Anko Stoffels and Guus J.Baks. The full photo album can be found on our website www.cureforcancer.nl
The evening opened with a rendition of Piaf’s ‘Non je ne regrette rien’ by Suzan Seegers. Victor Mids, , illusionist and doctor, followed with his neuromagic. During his act he exchanged chairman Theo M. de Reijke with new chairman Harrie Beerlage. Estonian pianist Tarmo Vesterbohm provided the background music during the dinner. Cure for Cancer ambassador Karin Bloemen presented the evening and sang a special Cure for Cancer text to an Adele hit. The excellent band Sonny’s Inc provided the music to which the guests danced exuberantly all evening. Legends of soul, Bryan B and Berget Lewis completed the evening.
The light and sound in the room was created by John Veerman of Fa. Heuvelman. Monique Winkel was responsible for the direction of the evening.
Auctioneer Laurien Schreuder managed to secure large bids, supported by notary Alexander van Limburg Stirum and treasurer Marcel van den Heuvel of the Cure for Cancer foundation.
Our great thanks also go to Stephan and Marianne Stokkermans of Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin, and the team led by Anouk Jahshan, Rick Spermon, Riepke Bouwman. The excellent menu was presented by chef Werner Drent and Gosia Nychowska of the banqueting department.
A special thank you to our gala organiser Nelleke Launspach and Kitty Dessauvagie who organised the evening, assisted by Marieke van de Laar, Sander Vocke and Marianne van Velzen.
If we have forgotten anyone, know that without you we could never have achieved such a great result.
